On 25-26.06 we were invited to Warsaw to participate in a two-day workshop organized
by Perfekt Sobierajski within its program www.polyester-design.com.

The leading idea of ​​the workshop was to highlight the role of a product-designer in the process of designing medical devices.
The conclusion for “reasonable” design is primarily a user needs analysis and observation in a natural environment.

Video footage from the operating room might be an irreplaceable tool for documenting the use of medical devices in its natural environment.
It is an excellent basis for the product designer to perform need analysis and conduct further research.

The workshop’s organizer – Perfect Sobierajski, together with the Aga Labor company were awarded the Red Dot 2011 in the category “Life, science and medicine” ( www.red-dot.org ) for the Combo surgical sucker designed by Paulina Kordos and Dawid Żebrowski.
 
Paulina Kordos, working for the Artificial Heart Laboratory of Zbigniew Religa Cardiac Surgery Development Foundation in Zabrze has carried out a project of mobile drive unit casing of artificial heart ventricles.
